THAT SHOULD INCLUDE THE PEOPLE SQUISHED NEXT TO YOU (and possibly trapped in an emergency!) IF YOU ARE PLUS-SIZED. This isn't about feelings; it's about simple geometry. It would be like a family of six renting a two-seater car and then complaining that the car doesn't accommodate them! Oh, your family can't fit in the Fiat? RENT AN SUV.
The fact is *everyone* should enjoy being comfortable (as it were) in the air. If I pay for a seat, I want to enjoy ALL OF IT. I want my half of the armrest, too. If your body takes up two seats, you should pay for two seats. I said it.
I should move to NYC. If I put on some more weight back on, I could make a good living just suing people. Just study a bit so I can represent myself pro se so I don't have to pay a lawyer.
Your booth is too small. Pay up. Your portions won't sustain my weight. Pay up. You don't have an elevator in the building. Pay up. The door on the taxi is too small. Pay up. There is not enough room in the toilet. Pay up. You didn't let me into the nightclub with the beautiful people. Pay up.
Throw in a few employment applications a week to round things out. I think I will start as a Chippendale's dancer. Lots of modeling agencies in town as well.
With a little planning, I could file at least 2-3 lawsuits a day. Of course I would have to pace myself. Going around doing that might burn off too many calories.

The good thing is that the whole issue is self limiting. Eventually, they will make it completely impossible to conduct business in their town. They are already off to a good start. When the airlines can't afford to give out two seats for the price of one to fly through NYC, they will change the flights to a different airport that the can afford to fly through. The only ones who will suffer are the people of NYC. But that's what they vote for, so who am I to say differently? All I can do is get out the popcorn and enjoy the show.
The sad part is it will take down New York with it. The loss of such an amazing city is a blow. But such is the strange time of change upon us.
